TRAME vases. Ichendorf Milano x Næssi

TRAME is a collection of transparent borosilicate glass vases dedicated to the art of floral design and inspired by the Japanese technique of ikebana in which cut flowers are positioned inside a container with a dynamic balance thanks to its techniques and rules.

In TRAME, flower stems dialogue with a geometric system arranged to emphasize the shapes, volumes and sinuosity of the plants. The linear glass bars, in fact, evoking branches placed transversally, open the glass cylinder showing the suspended texture to interact with.

In this way, the vases are not passive containers of the flowers but, relating to the composition, support the stems and offer suggestions to creating different layouts.

In the Italian tradition, the technique of weaving is used to make domestic and everyday utensils with specific functionalities such as baskets for grocery shopping or taking food to the fields, or tools for collecting mushrooms and herbs and fruit. In Trame, however, weaving is aimed at the experience of creativity and free interaction with a flower, a fruit, a leaf. It plays with balance, with the tension of the stem, with the weight of the corolla, and with the transparency of the glass that makes volumes disappear.
